Cover Engineer User Agreement
Effective Date: Monday 2nd March 2026
This User Agreement governs access to and use of the Cover Engineer website, platform, dashboards, and related services.
This agreement is between:

and the person or organisation using Cover Engineer.
If you use Cover Engineer on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to this agreement.
1. About Cover Engineer
Cover Engineer is a digital platform that enables:
engineers to create profiles and apply for cover shifts; and
sites, FM providers, managing agents, and similar users to post engineering cover requirements and review applicants.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, Building Services Ai Ltd acts as a platform provider only and not as an employer, recruitment agency, employment business, guarantor, insurer, or supervisor of work carried out on site.
2. Eligibility
You may use Cover Engineer only if:
you are at least 18 years old;
you have legal capacity to enter into contracts;
the information you provide is accurate and up to date; and
where relevant, you hold all licences, certifications, permissions, and right-to-work status required for your use of the platform.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for:
keeping your login details secure;
all activity carried out under your account;
ensuring only authorised persons use your account; and
notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.
We may suspend, restrict, or close your account if we reasonably believe there has been misuse, unlawful activity, fraud, inaccurate information, or breach of this agreement.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
use Cover Engineer for any unlawful, misleading, abusive, or discriminatory purpose;
submit false, inaccurate, or misleading information;
post false shifts, qualifications, timesheets, reviews, or profile details;
interfere with the operation or security of the platform;
upload malware, harmful code, or attempt unauthorised access;
scrape, reverse engineer, copy, or misuse platform data;
use the platform to avoid legal obligations relating to tax, employment, health and safety, immigration, or data protection.
5. Information and content you provide
You are responsible for all information, documents, reviews, messages, timesheets, profile content, site postings, and other material you upload or submit through the platform.
You confirm that:
you own it or have the right to use and share it;
it is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and
it does not infringe any third-party rights or break the law.
You grant Building Services Ai Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, use, copy, store, process, and display that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the platform.
6. Bookings and arrangements between users
Where an engineer is selected for a shift, the underlying arrangement may be between the engineer, the site-side client, and/or any identified payroll or contracting intermediary.
Building Services Ai Ltd is not responsible for:
whether a booking proceeds;
the quality, suitability, attendance, or conduct of any engineer;
the accuracy of site information;
tax, payroll, invoice, or employment-status disputes between users or third parties.
7. Fees
Certain parts of the platform may be free to use, while others may be subject to charges.
Where fees apply:
they will be communicated before commitment;
they may be charged on a subscription, annual, per-site, booking, or other basis;
they are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise; and
they are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated.
We may update pricing from time to time. Any new pricing will apply to future transactions or renewal periods.
8. Reviews and feedback
The platform may allow users to leave reviews, ratings, and feedback.
Any review or feedback must be:
honest;
based on genuine experience; and
not abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, retaliatory, or misleading.
We may remove, refuse, or moderate reviews at our discretion.
9. Verification and checks
We may request or review identity, qualifications, compliance documents, right-to-work evidence, or other information.
Any checks we carry out are for platform administration and risk management only. They do not amount to a guarantee of identity, competence, legality, suitability, or safety.
10. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in Cover Engineer, excluding user-submitted content, belong to Building Services Ai Ltd or its licensors.
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose in accordance with this agreement.
You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the platform except where allowed by law or with our written consent.
11. Privacy and data protection
Our use of personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
You must comply with applicable data protection laws when using Cover Engineer, including where you upload or access personal data relating to engineers, client contacts, or site staff.
12. Availability
We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We may suspend, withdraw, or change parts of the platform for maintenance, updates, legal reasons, or operational reasons.
13. Third-party services
Cover Engineer may involve third-party providers, including for payroll, payments, messaging, hosting, identity checks, analytics, or support services.
We are not responsible for third-party services, third-party outages, or third-party terms.
14. Disclaimer
The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee:
that any engineer will be selected or booked;
that any site will receive applicants;
any level of earnings, bookings, or commercial outcomes;
that any user, engineer, or site will be suitable, compliant, or safe.
15. Liability
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for:
death or personal injury caused by negligence;
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to that, Building Services Ai Ltd will not be liable for:
indirect or consequential loss;
loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business, contracts, or opportunity;
disputes between engineers, sites, clients, or third-party providers;
payroll, attendance, site safety, or employment-related issues not directly caused by us.
Our total aggregate liability in connection with this agreement shall not exceed:
the fees paid by you to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
£500, if no fees have been paid.
16. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Building Services Ai Ltd against losses, claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from:
your breach of this agreement;
your misuse of the platform;
your unlawful conduct;
false, inaccurate, or infringing content or information provided by you.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access immediately if:
you breach this agreement;
we suspect fraud, misuse, or unlawful conduct;
required documents are missing, false, or expired; or
continued access creates a legal, operational, or security risk.
You may stop using the platform at any time.
18. Confidentiality
You must keep confidential any non-public site, business, technical, commercial, or user information you obtain through Cover Engineer, unless disclosure is required by law.
19. Changes to this agreement
We may update this User Agreement from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on https://Cover.Engineer and will take effect from the stated date.
20. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
